HISTORY

          March 16,1521, time when the Philippines was discovered by Gen.Ferdinand Magellan from Spain. They sail day and night until they reach a small "Island of Limasawa". They took their first step at Limasawa and people met Magellan and welcomed him  along the shore.

             When Ferdinand Magellan landed at CEBU City, Raha Humabon the Leader of the Tribe that day met F.Magellan.Many days he stayed with Raha Humabon and one day magelan speak to Raha  about his purpose,he speak about Christianity.Magellan introduce to Raha about belief and faith in God. At first Raha and his people (the filipinos) do not know about God,the true One God.They only know
gods spirit or Paganism faith,and other belief they have.So this is the purpose of Ferdinand Magellan why he came in the Philippines and so after talking aout this matter Raha Humabon accept it and he commanded all his people to be baptize on that day to become Christians.And they built a Church for meeting and worship God.That is  the beginning of Catholic Life at Cebu City through Raha Humabon.

   And when F.Magellan visited in Mactan together with his soldiers he had one purpose why he went there just to  baptize all the people in Mactan.Because Raha Humabon accepted the proposal of Magellan that all must be baptize.But as he got down from his ship,a man named Lapu-lapu with his men met Magellan at the shore and drove them back to there country.Because Lapu-Lapu do not want to be baptize,and he knew that Magellan want to conquer the Philippines.So Magellan got mad of what Lapu-Lapu did so Magellan ordered his soldier to make battle with Lapu-Lapu.In that day many soldiers died and many Filipinos also died.But Lapu-Lapu was very strong man and his group and they won the battle that day. And Ferdinand Magellan go back to Spain wounded but he left three words for  the Filipinos,he said "I SHALL RETURN"...

               Ferdinand  Magellan succeed on conquering the Philippines because the Christianity he left to us.And also many Spanish soldiers remain in Cebu and they get married to Filipino women.As F.Magellan said that he will return so it was done but not him another group came and they patronize Christianity entire the whole country.The Spanish people begun to manipulated the Filipinos.Because they are powerful,they do whatever they want.They kill Filipino in secret crime,they use them slave,and use them to work without proper wages that time.Because of that Filipino men made a group and set up a leader.Many leaders reign just to fight for freedom of our country through Spanish people in our land.They risk there life in fighting,with sword and spear in their hand versus guns and cannon of soldiers.We have been slave by Spaniards within 450 years.  
              Many  foreign countries want to conquer our land,they are, Spanish, Japanese, American, Malay.All Filipinos suffered from their  hands.Many died and suffer because its so heavy to  follow their laws  and command. Our Independence Day was proclaimed on June 12,1898 in Kawit, Cavite.

            The Flag of the Philippines (Tagalog: Pambansang  Watawat ng Pilipinas) is a horizontal flag bicolor with equal bands of royal blue and scarlet red, and with a white equilateral triangle at the hoist; in the center of the triangle is a golden yellow sun with eight primary rays, which represent the country's first group of provinces that started the 1896 Philippine Revolution against Spain; and at each vertex of the triangle is a five-pointed golden yellow star, each of which, represent the country's Three main Islands, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. This flag can indicate a state of war if it is displayed with the red side on top.The Flag was first raised in Alapan,Imus,Cavite on May 28,1898 citing  Presidential Proclamation No.374 issued by President Diosdado Macapagal on March 6,1965

1) Blue= its symbolize Peace,Truth,and Justice

2) Red= its symbolize Patriotism and Valor

3) White Equilateral Triangle= its symbolize Equality and Fraternity

4) Eight-Ray golden Sun= its symbolize Unity, Freedom, People's Democracy and Sovereignty.

                       Each ray represents the first eight provinces that started the 1896 Philippine Revolution against Spain.
